My name is Nicholas Podany. I am a fourth year BFA Drama student at The Juilliard School in New York (Group 47). Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, I've performed in over forty shows, composed and recorded seven albums, and written two produced short films and one workshopped stage play. I also have had the opportunity to begin teaching acting at several schools and studios in California to middle schoolers through college students.
I've just released a new single called If We're Not Remembered, which you can listen to here. It grapples with mortality, purpose, and the gentrification of neighborhoods that I, as a white male, contribute to. Take a listen and feel free to contact me by clicking here!
And don't forget to check out my other single, now on Spotify and iTunes, called Heartbeats of Strangers, which features the incredible talent of Toney Goins.
In class, in shows, or at home, I'm always being exposed to great writers, old and new. From Shakespeare, to August Wilson, to Kathy Graf, I've been constantly inspired by the incredible stories I've had the chance to tell on stage or onscreen. After a while, I began to take a shot at writing my own stuff, including plays, short stories, short films, and web series. Several have been produced, directed, and workshopped in Los Angeles and New York. To read sections of my writing, CLICK HERE.
As I began to write films, I realized I needed a camera to film them with! Quickly, this camera went from being a means of film to a great introduction to photography. I was hooked, taking pictures of anything and anyone I could see. With my camera attached to me at the hip, I now do landscape and portrait/headshot photography. To see more, CLICK HERE.
